My mum works for a large petrol station and her manager (current, past, they're all awful) is exactly like this. The company policy is to rotate stock and put the oldest stock (chips, chocolate...) to the front so they can be dumped if unsold, but the manager (and their favourites) is more interested in keeping things done fast instead of right. She's come home a lot complaing that she's had to bin stuff that's OUT OF DATE and undo hours of bad work so people don't get sick. There is a rotating staff because people keep quitting, it's such an awful place to work. I'm waiting for the day it gets shut down for something related to not following food and safety laws, and considering its a large petrol station on a big freeway, it will be big news! Will be worth it though, she gets bullied on a daily basis.
