Vaping creates no smoke and very little smell, it's absurd to expect them to stop.
Unless this is your close friend who really loves that time alone with you to talk, don't ask. It's not a small ask, I'd absolutely say no to a casual friend and then avoid them.
I'm 51 and have a bunch of weird stuffed animals.
Me and my dog share a fork.
